Eloping to San Francisco City Hall

Most couples who get married at San Francisco City Hall plan an intimate celebration with about six guests. But plenty of lovebirds decide to skip the crowd, sign the papers, and elope in true San Francisco style—just the two of them and a whole lot of romance.

And honestly, do you know what’s best about eloping like that?
You can celebrate your marriage however you like, no committee meetings required.

Want to grab hot dogs from your favorite food truck right after the ceremony? Absolutely.
Feel like popping champagne on the beach while the Golden Gate Bridge glows in the background? Go for it.
Need to sneak off for a slice of sourdough pizza because you forgot to eat breakfast? Yes, please.

Shaun and Shea did all that—and more—and their San Francisco City Hall elopement photos are proof that the simplest plans can turn into the most unforgettable memories.

A few tips if you’re planning to follow their lead:

  • Buy your future husband a tie clip engraved with the GPS coordinates of City Hall, just in case he wanders off before the vows (yes, that really happened—see photo below!).

  • Brides, choose a wedding dress with pockets. You’ll thank yourself when you realize you need a spot for lip balm, vows, and maybe that secret celebratory chocolate bar.

  • Write a custom vows. Do to time restrictions custom wedding vows are not allowed during a small weddings at San Francisco City Hall. That doesn’t mean you can’t do it later or after the ceremony. The best part about those type of wedding vows they can be as spicy as you like since no one will be there to judge you.

Shaun and Shea, you nailed your elopement. From City Hall’s grand staircase to the windswept coast, your day was pure magic. Congratulations on a wedding day as fun, relaxed, and joyful as the two of you!
